Two area men charged in Operation Dead Ringer

July 30, 2020 - Two men from Largo and Clearwater were among 12 people charged with Social Security fraud in Operation Dead Ringer, an effort by the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida to target individuals who steal Social Security benefits inadvertently paid to deceased beneficiaries. The local men are identified in a news release as Glenn Frank of Largo and Louis Rozzero of Clearwater. Both are charged with theft of government funds. Frank is accused of fraudulently collecting about $28,895 of his mother’s Social Security benefits following her death in September 2016, while Rozzero is accused of fraudulently collecting about $57,332 of his partner’s Social Security benefits following his partner’s death in October 2014. If convicted, each faces a maximum penalty of 10 years’ imprisonment on each count, the news release said.
