USF Marine Science dean named to state commission

March 17, 2021 - Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Thomas Frazer to the Environmental Regulation Commission. Frazer was named dean of the College of Marine Science at the University of South Florida last year. He previously served as the state of Florida’s first Chief Science Officer. The commission sets standards and rules that protect Floridians and the environment based on sound scientific and technical validity, economic impacts, and risks and benefits to the public and Florida’s natural resources. Frazer was one of four people named to the commission, with appointments subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
