Hurricane Helene’s effects on Pinellas County were severe, and will certainly be felt for days, weeks and months.

Our local arts and entertainment community is reeling, in its own way, from the storm’s abrupt changes in daily plans.

Here are the latest cancellations and postponements:

Tonight’s scheduled concert by world music guitarist Benise at the Mahaffey Theater has been postponed.

Tonight’s scheduled opening performance of St. Petersburg Opera Company’s Samson & Delilah, at the Palladium Theater, has been canceled. Performances Sunday and Tuesday will go on as scheduled.

Tonight’s scheduled opening of Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash at American Stage has been canceled. The play will open Saturday.

The The Florida Orchestra has cancelled both scheduled Saturday performances of Country Hits: Songs from Nashville at the Mahaffey Theater.

This is a developing story, and will be updated as information becomes available.
