If you’re searching for a way to give back, the Catalyst’s Impact Connector is here to help. Each week, we feature five organizations in the Tampa Bay area that need your input, whether that’s time, talent, items, funding or simply awareness. We’re certain you’ll find something here that matches your interests and will positively impact the community.

Touch Tank Volunteer

Tampa Bay Watch is looking for passionate volunteers to help out with their touch tank in the Discovery Center. This is an important opportunity to help with watching over the touch tank to keep everyone safe, guests and animals alike, and to educate visitors. It may also involve engaging in educational activities just outside of the Discovery Center. It is encouraged that volunteers talk with visitors about the creatures in the touch tank and in our ecosystem, along with the incredible work done by Tampa Bay Watch.

There is no special experience or knowledge required, as Tampa Bay Watch will provide a training guide, along with offering an opportunity to shadow an experienced person before you begin. This volunteering opportunity has flexible scheduling within the Discovery Center’s hours, so you may take advantage whenever works best for you. Volunteering to aid with the touch tank is perfect for anyone who is passionate about wildlife and the ocean, and wants to spread that passion with others.
