Fecal bacteria at area beaches now at ‘acceptable levels’
May 16, 2025 - The Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County has lifted an advisory announced Thursday for high bacterial levels at Clearwater Beach near Mandalay Park, Sand Key County Beach and Indian Rocks Beach. Water samples now show an "acceptable level" of enterococci bacteria found in fecal pollution. The state establishes those guidelines.
