Several employees from the Tampa Bay area Hooters locations and corporate office attended the home dedication for the Seville Family on May 29 in Tarpon Springs. During the dedication ceremony the keys, a hammer and Bible were presented to the family. This is the ninth home the Original Hooters sponsored and volunteered at in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside. Employees who participated in both the build and dedication ceremony include Falicity Ozuna (John Pass Hooters), Skylar Daniel (4th Street Hooters), Sunita Persaud (HMC Hospitality Group Regional Training Coordinator) and Lesley Price (HMC Hospitality Group Community Relations Liaison).

“It’s been incredible to see the house go from just wood and nails to full walls. Volunteering on this build has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life,” said Falicity Ozuna who works at Johns Pass Hooters and presented the keys to the home to the Seville Family.

“This experience was something I’ll truly never forget. Being a part of every stage of the build from framing the walls to painting to ultimately giving the hammer to a deserving family was such a beautiful experience. I’m truly blessed to have been a part of this, and I will be volunteering again next year,” said Skylar Daniel who works at 4th Street Hooters and awarded the hammer to the new homeowners. The hammer represents the hard work the volunteers and the homeowner put into the home.

Sunita Persaud presented the Bible to the family as part of the dedication. Autumn Seville has three children. When Autumn found out she was approved to become a homeowner through the Habitat for Humanity program, she felt so grateful to be able to create a space full of lasting memories. She imagined a future of stability, setting the foundation for her family to begin their journey. “Financially, it offers a more predictable living situation, allowing us to invest in other aspects of our lives. My house will be a haven of warmth and togetherness, a place where laughter echoes through the rooms, and where our shared dreams find a home,” said homeowner Autumn Seville.

“Affordable housing is a major challenge many families in our community are facing. We are very thankful to be able to assist local families including the Seville Family with a place to call home. Every year, our team at the Original Hooters enjoys volunteering and we are honored to sponsor and dedicate our ninth Habitat for Humanity Home in our community,” said Denise Williams, Chief Marketing Officer of HMC Hospitality Group.

HMC Hospitality Group has also sponsored previous homes for the Williams Family, Elias Family, Clarke Family, Hooten Family, Miller Family, Hicks Family, Smith Family and Hayes Family. Since 2016, HMC Hospitality Group has presented Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside a total of $875,100 and donated over 2,558 hours of their time to build local homes.
