St. Petersburg has been good to Kevin and Jeanne Milkey and their family.

That’s why the couple believes in giving back to the city they’ve lived in for 28 years.

The Milkey Family Foundation is a major donor to Daystar Life Center, Tampa Bay Watch and other charitable organizations. The organization was a leader in Daystar’s capital campaign to build a larger headquarters, and the new Tampa Bay Watch facility on the St. Pete Pier officially is named “Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center presented by the Milkey Family Foundation.”

In this interview with the St. Pete Catalyst Finance Editor Margie Manning, Kevin Milkey revealed which local business leader influenced him to talk publicly about his philanthropic contributions.

Milkey, an insurance industry veteran, also unveiled the timeline for his next business venture —the Grand Central Brewhouse & Restaurant — and he made a surprise career announcement.
