ABOUT THE ARTIST
Khasilan’s story is best expressed and interpreted through the art of movement itself. Originally an autodidact, Si specializes in the art of movement. His native language is a mix of Hip Hop, Popping, Breakdancing and Contemporary. Though quite shy as a kid, he performed at the Mahaffey Theatre in front of his elementary school classmates in the Chocolate nutcracker. At the age of 14 he didn’t have access to dance classes but was inspired by the standards of the best dancers around the world that he watched online.
He started to hone his gift himself, fueled by unparalleled self-driven ambition. As he started to break out of his shell showing the world who he was, his dance world exploded. As a young adult, he began producing and directing local performances winning critiques choice, best overall, and fan favorite. In High school, he taught his school’s dance team and taught at a local dance studio. He started freelance choreography/performance production at the age of 19. Always passionate for more knowledge he traveled to train under leaders in his dance realm such as Kevin Paradox, Beast, Joe Tulio, groove against the machine and more.
Khasilan went from winning regional competitions like Tampa Bay’s “Philfest dance revolution”, to teaching dance in San Francisco, to Placing top 8 in Chicago and Oakland battles. He’s currently the teaching Artist in residence at ACT (Art Conservatory For Teens), BADA (Broadway Arts and Dance Academy) and also teaches and performs through his LLC. He aims to tell stories, learn of the world, and support every student’s blossoming through dance.
