Shuttered St. Pete brewery hits the market
The former home of The Brutalist Temple of Beer in St. Petersburg is now on the market with a $2.7 million asking price.
Aric Parker, owner of the brewery, purchased the industrial building at 1776 11th Ave. N. in early 2022 and closed the space in October of this year.
The 10,747-square-foot building, constructed in 1981, was previously occupied by another operator – Flying Boat Brewing Company.
A source close to the deal said The Brutalist’s owners plan to relocate their brewery business to a different site in the city.
According to a listing from Bridgewater Commercial Real Estate, the space is still fully built out for a microbrewery as it features a tap room, a sterile area used for brewing and two large walk-coolers.
There are separate dining rooms and an outdoor covered patio and courtyard.
Through a separate contract, the buyer can purchase or lease the brewing equipment.
“We have been receiving interest from potential buyers for a variety of uses,” Bridgewater Commercial Real Estate associate Davis Nunneley said. “With the IT zoning, the space could be used for offices, events or another brewery.”
The second level features office/conference spaces.
The seller installed a new roof and speaker system, updated the wiring throughout the building and reinforced concrete under the kegs.
The 0.77-acre lot offers 19 surface parking spaces.
The real estate listing comes online as St. Pete’s culinary scene is experiencing a rise in new restaurants and bars.
A new operator has stepped in to open a VooDoo Brewing Co. location at 220 4th St. N.
Owned by St. Petersburg Hollander Hotel founder Michael Andoniades, the space was formerly occupied by the Orange Blossom Catering business.
The VooDoo brewpub will open next year.
The city also recently welcomed Golden Isles Brewing Co. The company turned the old gas station at 3000 Dr. MLK St. N., across from the Sunset Grill restaurant, into its new brewery.
