The Stephanie A. Wynn Foundation, in partnership with USF Health, is excited to announce its 2nd Annual Let’s Talk IBD Health & Wellness Symposium. This groundbreaking event will feature Dr. Jennifer Seminerio, the esteemed Director of the USF Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center, as our keynote speaker.
Our symposium aims to elevate awareness and understanding of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) within the underserved African American and other marginalized communities disproportionately affected by this chronic condition.
This year’s symposium, set to unfold at the University of South Florida’s St. Petersburg Campus, centers around the theme ACCESS: Awareness, Collaboration, Continuity of Care, Education, Support, and Systematic Outreach. Our commitment to these principles is unwavering, especially in reaching underserved communities.
Our goal is to build meaningful collaborations within the healthcare community to enhance the quality of life for underserved African Americans and other underserved populations living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). By providing access to affordable healthcare, nutritional guidance, and mental wellness support, we strive to dismantle the disparities in healthcare experienced by the IBD community.
Ms. Stephanie A. Wynn, the foundation’s president emphasizes, “Ensuring equal access to quality healthcare, education, and resources for underserved African Americans and other marginalized populations diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is paramount. Our focus is not only on health equity but also on race equity, ensuring everyone, irrespective of socioeconomic status, receives the highest standard of care.”
We invite you to join this critical conversation about Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and the healthcare and financial disparities it presents. Engage with us in addressing these challenges head-on and build a path towards a more inclusive and equitable healthcare landscape.
