True to its name, Preserve the ‘Burg works tirelessly to maintain the history, charm and beauty of the Sunshine City.

Since 1977, Preserve the ‘Burg (formerly St. Petersburg Preservation) has maintained, restored, rehabilitated, preserved and acquired essential historic, natural, architectural and scenic structures and sites. In doing so, it bridges the gap between past and present by advocating for the historic structures that make modern-day St. Petersburg so charming. Preserve the ‘Burg stays relevant by hosting porch parties, fora, movies in the park and historic tours to promote a love of community and a pride in St. Pete’s rich history. Preserve the ‘Burg celebrates the storied and robust culture of St. Petersburg past and present.

Preserve the 'Burg (St. Petersburg Preservation, Inc.) is an incorporated 501(c)3 organization, comprised of an all-volunteer board of directors and one paid staff member. No matter what projects they undertake, the overarching goal is to instill in St. Pete’s citizens an appreciation of our shared heritage and culture and how this contributes to our quality of life and economic success. Preserve the 'Burg is an organization of the people, funded in large part by the support of its members. It focuses on preserving the city's sense of place through advocacy and community outreach.

Allison Stribling

Executive Director

Prior to working for Preserve the 'Burg, Allison Stribling served as the Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network's partnership coordinator for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Southwest Region. She has also worked as a client relations consultant to Hatch Mott MacDonald, and as a training specialist at the John Scott Dailey Florida Institute of Government.

Emily Elywn

President

Emily Elwyn is a committed historic preservation professional with an abundance of professional and academic experiences. She specializes in technical assistance, program management, research, facade easements and National Register/Section 106 nominations.
