This charity golf tournament is not just about playing the sport but making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). The event is dedicated to supporting the IBD Patient Navigator Program, aimed at advancing research and providing critical support for individuals battling this challenging condition.
Participants of all skill levels are invited to join, from seasoned golfers to those who have never swung a club. Your participation will contribute directly to fostering hope and promoting progress in the fight against IBD.
Stephanie Wynn, an IBD survivor and the organization’s founder, said she started the symposium in an effort to spread awareness about the disease and to encourage conversations centered around how to access care for those who cope with IBD.
“In the face of adversity, we find our true strength,” Wynn said. “At The Stephanie A. Wynn Foundation, Inc., we harness this strength to champion health equity and enhance the quality of life for those battling Inflammatory Bowel Disease.”
Our goal is to build meaningful collaborations within the healthcare community to enhance the quality of life for underserved African Americans and other underserved populations living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). By providing access to affordable healthcare, nutritional guidance, and mental wellness support, we strive to dismantle the disparities in healthcare experienced by the IBD community.
Wynn said the golf tournament is key to continuing her organization’s goals.
“Ensuring equal access to quality healthcare, education, and resources for underserved African Americans and other marginalized communities with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is paramount,” Wynn said. “Our focus is not only on health equity, but also on race equity, ensuring everyone, irrespective of socioeconomic status, receives the highest standard of care.”
We invite you to join this critical conversation about Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and the healthcare and financial disparities it presents. Engage with us in addressing these challenges head-on and build a path towards a more inclusive and equitable healthcare landscape.
