Tampa International prepares for substantial growth
June 6, 2024 - According to long-term estimates in a recent master plan update, Tampa International Airport (TPA) will serve 34.6 million annual passengers by 2037, a 9.6 million increase over current levels. Officials expect to serve 39 million annual passengers by 2042. A recent study found that TPA will likely need 22 aircraft gates – the new Airside D project includes 16 – 83 additional ticketing counters and three to four more baggage claim carousels to accommodate the influx of passengers.
