Doc Ford’s Jungle Terrace donates $2,330 to nonprofits impacted by hurricanes
Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille in Jungle Terrace donated $2,330 to aid the SPCA Tampa Bay and Reach St. Pete in ongoing hurricane recovery efforts following last fall’s Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The money, which was divided equally among the organizations, was raised during the restaurant’s Nov. 21 Sip for a Cause fundraiser and $4 donations from each hurricane specialty cocktail sold through Dec. 31, 2024.
“We are thrilled by the outpouring of community support to help these two nonprofit organizations in their time of need,” said Joe Harrity, a partner with HM Restaurant Group, the parent company of Doc Ford’s. “Our customers are compassionate and always come through to support a great cause.”
An independent animal welfare agency serving the community for 84 years, SPCA Tampa Bay runs an open-admission, for-all animal shelter in Pinellas County. The organization annually cares for nearly 8,000 animals surrendered by their owners along with injured wildlife, providing immunizations, medical care and enrichment. It’s supported by a team of 100-plus staff members and more than 250 volunteers. To learn more, visit spcatampabay.org.
