Khris Johnson is the Head Brewer/Co-Owner of Green Bench Brewing Company. Born in Tennessee, Khris has lived in St. Petersburg for over twenty years. Since opening the brewery in 2013 with his partners, both St. Petersburg natives, Khris’ recipe development, process integration, and brand visions have set the groundwork for the brewery’s worldwide notoriety and sustained growth. An active member of the Tampa Bay beer scene for years, Khris previously worked for Cigar City Brewing and Southern Brewing and Winemaking, and is a founding faculty member of the USF St. Petersburg Brewing Arts Program. The Green Bench team recently opened their second facility, Webb’s City Cellar, next door to their original tasting room in the spring of 2019, where Khris is excited to expand Green Bench’s focus on fermentation and oak while creating a unique destination for locals and tourists alike.
