Meet Autism Shifts.
This Tampa-based nonprofit is looking to shift outcomes for people diagnosed with autism. Their main focuses include:
- Employment & career training
- Independent living
- Community & social integration
Autism Shifts’ employment project, the Artistas Cafe opened in 2011, a first of it’s kind employment training program for people with autism. With Artistas Cafe’s wild success, Autism Shifts is looking to expand the program throughout the region, and they recently launched the Artistas Cafe food truck. Their social enterprise’s mission is to help people with autism integrate into more inclusive communities and utilize their unique abilities in a work setting.
