Camden Property Trust, Baycare Health System make Fortune’s list
Fortune’s just-released 21st annual list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For includes three companies with offices or branches in the Tampa Bay area.
More than 315,000 employees provided feedback to determine the winners of the 2018 list, which focuses solely on American companies. Fortune measures companies on the following characteristics: Executive team effectiveness, innovation, people-focused programs, and Great Place to Work For All.
Headquartered in Houston, publicly-traded Camden Property Trust came in at No. 24 on the Fortune list. The REIT (real estate investment trust) recently purchased the 18-story, 358-unit former AER Luxury Apartments in downtown St. Petersburg, and will rename it Camden Pier District. Camden’s Tampa Bay portfolio now includes seven properties.
Camden has an office at 6301 S. West Shore Blvd. in Tampa.
Price Waterhouse Coopers LLC, the global business consulting firm with three offices in Hillsborough County, came in at 56.
Closer to home, Tampa Bay’s Baycare Health System was ranked No. 65. Just over 1,000 employees were surveyed, with many citing the organization’s innovative incentive programs including adoption assistance, tuition assistance and the “Earn as You Learn” educational program, and “High Five Rewards,” in which employees can recognize each other for going above and beyond, and leaders can give recognition in points. Team members can then redeem points for a variety of merchandise and gift cards.
