‘Catalyst Sessions’ recap: Jon and Monica Kile

Wednesday’s edition of The Catalyst Sessions connected St. Petersburg with Mackinac Island, Michigan, where Jon, Monica, James and Anna Kile were adventuring as part of their September RV trip through various United States. The quartet had just finished an eight-mile bicycle journey.

The kids (ages 10 and 7) are being officially homeschooled, every day in fact, but they’re also getting an up-close-and-personal history lesson as the family travels.

History, of course, is what brought Monica Rowland to the area from her native Jacksonville in the first place; Monica worked for many years with St. Pete Historic Preservation (later known as Preserve the ‘Burg) and was the organization’s executive director before resigning last month.

She and writer Jon Kile got married (12 years ago) and the rest is … history.

They were good enough to take 30 minutes out of yet another action-filled day to chat with us about all kinds of things, including business, health, education, love … and, yes, history.

Today on The Catalyst Sessions: Singer, songwriter, guitarist and bandleader Kirk Adams.

Streaming weekdays at 7 p.m. on the Catalyst Facebook page. All episodes are archived on our YouTube page.
