Will Thomas Scecina is a guitarist and singer whose public service video promoting mask-wearing won the recent contest sponsored by the Catalyst, Spectrum, the City of St. Petersburg and other organizations.

Drummer Dave Hamar is the co-owner of The Mar, the St. Pete performance space on Central Avenue scheduled to open for limited (and virtual) business Sept. 1.

These two friends joined us for Friday’s edition of The Catalyst Sessions to talk about their jazz band, Anyan Devery, and about their work as backup musicians for Mandy Harvey, the deaf Florida singer/songwriter who came to national attention on TV’s America’s Got Talent.

On the program, Scecina and Hamar perform three songs, including two Scecina originals and, just for posterity’s sake, the 30-second “Wear a Mask.”

The interview (their side of it, anyway) was conducted from the main room of The Mar.
