YMCA, Welch to continue youth literacy program

The JWB was already a funding source for several YMCA programs. Still, “We take a very businesslike approach to these enterprises,” Jezek said. “We have said ‘no’ before. We match up mission, service, program, operational sustainability, all those things. This isn’t a short game for us, it’s a long game.”

The Y accepted the challenge, and has already begun re-operating the 10-year-old program, which is based in eight neighborhood churches and serves more than 250 children. Its new headquarters are in the Y’s Childs Park building, at 691 43rd Street S.

Tampa International Airport receives customer service award

Tampa International Airport has been named to the Airports Council International World’s Roll of Excellence – the only airport in the United States to make the 2018 list.

It’s a customer service designation. Passengers are surveyed on 34 key performance indicators, on the day they travel. According to the ACI, the trade association of the world’s airports, it’s the “only worldwide service quality measurement and benchmarking service that questions passengers while at the airport.”
