“There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.” --- Margaret J. Wheatley
Besides our jobs, our neighborhoods are where we have the most invested. Our homes are there. Our families. Our sense of peace, belonging, identity and even pride. Yet so many of us have lost our connection with where we choose to sink our roots, spend our time, and call home.
Wouldn’t it be great to re-activate our neighborhoods again? Know who lives next door? Look out for each other? Work together to address common challenges or realize mutual desires and goals?
To jumpstart that possibility, a group of citizens of St. Pete, trained in hosting World Café Conversations, are helping launch a series of conversations in historic neighborhoods.
Our goal: to deepen relationships across our community. To build vibrancy, connection, and trust.
And we're doing it by hosting evenings like the one on September 13th, where we participate in listening, sharing, and dreaming of what it could be like when we get together and talk about what really matters in each of our own neighborhoods.
This first evening will set the stage.
So if you live in St. Petersburg Florida, and are interested in making good things happen for your neighborhood. Come participate. Get a taste. Then decide if you want to help host one in your ‘hood.
This event is free and open to all interested. So invite your neighbors!
