When St. Petersburg, FL guitarist, Justino Lee Walker, had the idea to book his annual celebratory Birthday Concert, he immediately called up his fellow Virgoan & Best of the Bay rapper, Jon Ditty, to rekindle the passion project they had first attempted in 2019… a Rage Against the Machine Tribute Show.
With the solicited assistance of “big riff aficionado” Vinny Svoboda (on bass) and cymbal-crushing Dru Underwood (on drums), the supergroup-of-sorts plans to deliver seventeen (17) Rage classics at the Floridian Social Club on Sunday, September 4th. Additional performances will be showcased by “trapdoom” activists, DEA & Saint, as well as an opening DJ set by Tysonious Mink; however, that’s not all. In true RATM fashion, the musicians have opted to donate the entirety of their earnings to the Tampa Bay Abortion Fund, as a scathing retort towards the recent Supreme Court ruling, overturning Roe v. Wade. Whether or not you’re already familiar with the creative efforts of ANY of these Tampa Bay Musicians, this is a spectacle you will NOT want to miss. 🤘
