The St Petersburg Branch of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) will host a celebration and dinner in honor of Black History Month. The event will feature Emmy Award winner Valerie Scoon, a professor at Florida State University. Ms. SAcoon has worked at HARPO studios and Warner Brothers. she will present her 2021 emmy award-winning film that reveals the once invisible slave trade in north Florida.
