This 3-hour workshop will begin with a 30-minute lecture/demonstration from the live model with a focus on foundational techniques and methods. We’ll explore how to see the sculptural structure of the head: its angles, planes, and proportions. You’ll learn to trust your eye, feel the form with your hand, and carve into space with charcoal. All skill levels are welcome. We’ll draw from the live model, play music, and end with a round-table conversation about what we learned, what we found challenging, and what surprised us!
