In the name of agility, companies are breaking down large, operational systems into a smaller architectural style by using small, autonomous units called microservices. These nimble systems are able to deliver complexity at a rapid pace, but require informed purchasing decisions and operational readiness.
When software engineer Lubosz Kosnik encountered drift within microservices architecture, his team migrated from blue/green to canary deployment.
Kosnik, a member of the Reliability, Automation, and Performance (RAP) team at Fast, a one-click checkout platform, will discuss:
· His team’s decision-making in picking the right tools
· How they overcame challenges to refine processes
· The reasons why increased latency trigged the need to migrate to a service mesh
· The move to deploy releases using the canary strategy
