Ekeko Gallery in Collaboration with Love Without Borders for Refugees in Need, will be hosting an art exhibition in their Gallery on Saturday, February 18, from 5:00pm-7:30pm.

The exhibition will include over 45 pieces of artwork, each made by refugee artists of all ages and backgrounds, currently based in community housing and camps in Greece.

Love Without Borders for Refugees in Need seeks to help support refugees in Greece to regain stability and autonomy over their lives. Using art as a means for self-expression and a tool for economic independence, the organization strives to give refugees a platform through which to express themselves, share their experiences, and forge relationships with both local and global communities. In addition to supporting refugees, the art collection aims to educate the public about the struggles refugees face, humanize the refugee experience, and generate compassion and empathy for all people in this world. 100% of the money raised from sales will be paid to the artists who created the artwork.

The event will include a short talk from the director about her experiences in the field, as well as student-made media that conveys refugee stories as well as educates the community about the refugee crisis and what we can do to help.

There will also be plenty of time to take and explore the colorful, creative, and impactful pieces of art. Each piece will be accompanied by a biography, to help those in attendance learn about the individuals who created the art, where they come from, and what art has meant to them in their journeys.

This event is the 134th art event Love Without Borders has hosted and marks the 6th anniversary of Love Without Borders sharing its work around the world!
