Pinellas Remembers is an Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) Community Remembrance Project Coalition. For several years, the Coalition has worked to bring a memorial marker in remembrance of local lynching victim Mr. John Evans. Pinellas Remembers is proud to host its first annual gala, co-sponsored by the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. Our very special guest speaker will be Mr. Eric Deggans, former Tampa Bay Times media and TV/media critic and currently Nation Public Radio (NPR) TV critic, the first ever at NPR. Mr. Deggans will speak on how media impacts race, sex and prejudice. Food and drink will be provided. Open to the public with limited seating.
