Two of history’s greatest wordsmiths – William Shakespeare and Cole Porter – come together for the riotous, romantic musical theater benchmark Kiss Me, Kate, a wickedly clever, fast-paced musical comedy with a full, Broadway-sized orchestra conducted by St. Pete Opera executive and musical director Mark Sforzini, spectacular dancing and a cast of professional singers and actors, directed and choreographed by Daryl Gray.

With book by Samuel and Bella Spewack, and Porter’s unbeatable, Tony-winning music and lyrics, Kiss Me, Kate is the story of a touring theatrical production of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. Battling exes Fred and Lilli are starring as Petruchio and Kate, but will the show survive their combustible chemistry?
