A saga of biblical treasures, intrepid explorers, and political upheaval!

In Under Jerusalem acclaimed journalist Andrew Lawler takes readers into the tombs, tunnels, and trenches of the Holy City and he will be at Tombolo Books to tell us more about the indelible characters who have investigated this subterranean landscape!

Lawler will be joined in conversation by Economics professor at USF St. Pete, Dr. Rebecca Barancik.

Let us know we will see you there! Please RSVP HERE!

Andrew Lawler is author of the bestselling The Secret Token: Myth, Obsession, and the Search for the Lost Colony of Roanoke, and the acclaimed Why Did the Chicken Cross the World?: The Epic Saga of the Bird that Powers Civilization. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, National Geographic, and Smithsonian. He is a contributing writer for Science and a contributing editor for Archaeology. Lawler's work has appeared several times in The Best of Science and Nature Writing.

Rebecca Harris Barancik, Ph.D. is on the Economics faculty at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg campus. Economics is an objective way to describe the way humans make decisions, but she is also glad to have an excuse to teach young adults how to think analytically and to simply be decent citizens. While her primary assignment is to teach, she recently co-authored a paper looking at the nexus of economic thought, Jewish precepts, and environmental sustainability. This brought in knowledge from her labor of love, which is my involvement at her synagogue, Temple Beth-El.
