Expanding Carillon Office Park could include Topgolf St. Petersburg
Twelve acres of vacant land in the Carillon Office Park could soon be the site for Topgolf St. Petersburg.
A permit application filed with the Southwest Florida Water Management District includes construction plans for the three-story, 526,586-square-foot site, including 102 hitting bays and a restaurant.
The site is at the southwest corner of Fountain Parkway and Carillon Parkway, between Catalina Marketing and Transamerica Financial Advisors. The land is owned by a subsidiary of Transamerica, according to Pinellas County property records.
The project is across the street from Grove Isle, a 298-unit apartment complex under construction now. It’s part of the planned Echelon City Center, a 20.5 acre mixed-use, pedestrian friendly urban development from Echelon LLC, the real estate company that developed Carillon.
Continued expansion at Carillon has prompted several road projects in the area, including a $1.6 million contract awarded earlier this month for intersection improvements.
The area, already the second-largest employment center in the southeast United States, will have a high-profile entertainment option provided the Topgolf application is approved.
Topgolf is a golf entertainment experience with competitive games and advanced technology to track the accuracy and distance of players’ shots.
Topgolf Tampa, located in Brandon, opened in 2014. Topgolf Tampa was the 15th location worldwide for the Dallas-based company.
It just opened its 54th location in Greenville, South Carolina.
