At Bais, Bailey Floyd says, "we focus on earned media coverage. Allowing your brand to authentically engage with consumers with the goal of increased brand visibility, driving traffic to your website, improved sales ... without spending a penny on paid advertising." She writes: "A popular PR quote in our industry states, A good PR story is infinitely more effective than a front-page ad,' and I could not have said it better myself. Opinions are good. Hustle (job)

Founder of Bais Creative & Public Relations; publicist & social media strategist.

What do you do?

We partner with brands to elevate their online presence – think social strategy and digital audits – to lay the foundation for successful media outreach and earn media coverage that creates both impact and opportunity. I have worked with people and brands across the entire United States and specialize in partnering with DTC food, wellness and sports brands to share their stories.

Why do you do it?

I have a passion for helping startups and small businesses grow their online presence in today’s digital-first world, and launched Bais to merge my passion and empathy for helping guide brands with my expertise and experience in the communications industry. I’m a big believer that no marketing plan or strategy is one-size-fits-all, and that is what makes my job so fun as every brand has a unique story to tell.

What was your Catalyst? (How did you get started?)

I launched in June 2021 after nearly a decade in the communications industry. I finally had the courage to start building a brand of my own to create more autonomy in my schedule, as I love to travel and fish.

What’s a common misconception or unknown aspect of what you do?

There are too many to count, but a lot of brands don’t truly understand PR and can tend to believe that it may only be needed during a public relations crisis.

What’s the most challenging part of your Hustle?

Managing client expectations. PR is not a quick fix and clients typically want to see instant results, but it takes time to develop impactful strategy, and messaging, and build brand credibility through earned media.

What’s the most valuable piece of business advice/insight that’s helped you?

Not every day will be perfect and that is okay. Learn to enjoy the ride.
