What do you do?
Provide private boat charters for sunset cruises, island trips, scenic boat rides, and inshore fishing charters.
Why do you do it?
My hobby and passion have always been boating and fishing. I was a search and rescue swimmer in the Navy and an Operations Specialist on a Destroyer, a guided missile ship responsible for tracking aircraft and ships on radar. I grew up on Lake Michigan, but Florida has been my home for almost 30 years, spending most of my days fishing and boating the Tampa Bay area.
What was your Catalyst? (How did you get started?)
I’ve always had a hustle in the automotive industry, owning several companies, but it was time to give 100% to boating as more people wanted an experienced boater to take them boating or fishing for the day. I earned my Master/Captain’s license and started Reel Vibes. We not only boat with guests on vacation, we have local repeat guests who love boating but don’t want the hassles of owning.
What’s a common misconception or unknown aspect of what you do?
Reel Vibes can be like a boat club for the locals who want to boat a lot, but with a guided captain so they can sit back and enjoy the day.
What’s the most challenging part of your Hustle?
The weather!
