Years in St. Pete
I’ve been in St. Pete for more than 13 years.
Organizations involved in
I am heavily involved with Leadership St. Pete, Lunch Pals mentoring program through Pinellas County Schools and exploring a new board opportunity with the Seniors in Service nonprofit organization.
What gets you out of bed every day?
A Peloton ride or strength workout to kickstart my day, followed by a high-protein breakfast: Eggs and bacon over Greek yogurt with blueberries, all topped with a spicy sriracha kick.
Why St. Pete?
I love the energy in St. Pete – the perfect mix of bustling city life and small-town warmth. With a vibrant downtown, new restaurants and shops constantly emerging, endless markets and festivals, beautiful parks and abundant outdoor activities, our city offers a culture that is truly unmatched.
What is one habit that you keep?
Most nights before bed, I prime my environment for success the following day with a few simple rituals inspired by Atomic Habits. As James Clear says, “Master preparation, and execution becomes easy.” I tidy up, lay out my workout fit, fill a glass of water, and plan my next day’s to-do list. Journaling is on my list too, but that’s still a work in progress.
Who are some people that influence you?
Family is my cornerstone, and my nieces Adelynn (11) and Avery (13) are my biggest inspiration. Despite frequent Air Force moves, they excel in their studies, competitive softball and performing arts. Their courage and zest for life remind me to dream big, be authentic and embrace my inner child.
What is one piece of insight - a book, methodology, practice - that you would share with our readers?
Marcus Aurelius once said, “Train your mind to see the good in everything. Positivity is a choice. The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.” This practice is something I return to daily.
What is one thing you wish you knew about your work 3 years ago?
I wish I had prioritized digital storytelling, visual communication and AI tools in my work. These skills are vital for crafting compelling narratives, engaging audiences and staying ahead in the fast-paced digital landscape. Embracing AI earlier could have streamlined processes, boosted efficiencies, optimized content creation and distribution and provided data-driven insights to refine our communications strategies.
What’s next?
We’re kicking off a new fiscal year at Raymond James, and I’m thrilled to dive into our team’s strategic initiatives. As the 2025 chair of Leadership St. Pete, I’m looking forward to welcoming the Class of 2025 as we celebrate 55 years of LSP. Outside of work, I’m launching a vintage shop, @jennalouise.co on Instagram, with my first three markets in October. Plus, I’m gearing up for my first sprint triathlon relay at the end of September with my LSP friends. Busy times ahead!
