Johnson, Pope, Bokor, Ruppel and Burns LLP has exited its Clearwater office, the veteran law firm’s central headquarters for the past 45 years.
The company, which is the largest law firm in Pinellas County, announced this month it has relocated to 311 Park Place Blvd., Suite 300.
The new space can accommodate 26 attorneys and 28 staff members.
The news emerged as the firm was celebrating its 50th anniversary.
“While we didn’t plan the Clearwater relocation with the firm’s 50th anniversary, it does reflect our deep roots in Clearwater and our continued commitment to our clients and the community in which we work and live,” managing partner Darryl Richards – a 40-year veteran of the firm – said in a prepared statement.
The founding partners of Johnson Pope purchased the original property, at 911 Chestnut Street, in 1978. The firm added space in 1982 and 1988, as it continued to grow and prosper. In 2018, Johnson, Pope et al sold the building for $3.2 million to Clearwater-based real estate company Churchill Stateside Group. It continued to operate at the office as a tenant.
The firm has offices in St. Petersburg and Tampa.
In 2021, Powell, Carney, and Maller, a boutique law firm specializing in real estate, merged with Johnson Pope.
