‘Last Waltz Live’ coming to the Mahaffey

Tickets go on sale Friday for a Nov. 20 Mahaffey Theater concert, The Last Waltz Tour Live.
It’s a song-by-song live reproduction of The Band’s legendary 1976 farewell concert at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom, featuring Gov’t Mule and Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes, with Don Was, Jamey Johnson, Kathleen Edwards, Anders Osborne, Dave Malone, John Medeski, Cyril Neville, Terence Higgins, Bob Margolin and the Levee Horns (playing Allen Toussaint’s original horn arrangements).
“It is such an honor that the musical celebration of The Last Waltz and The Band carries on today,” Band-co-founder (and tour producer) Robbie Robertson said in a prepared statement. “Blackbird Presents and this extraordinary lineup of musicians makes me proud to be a part of this ongoing and wonderful tradition.”
Blackbird, the producing company, began the Last Waltz Live tour as an annual event in 2016. The 2022 tour begins Nov. 3 in Port Chester, NY.
