Northside Hospital CEO heads for Chicago

Dia Nichols, CEO at HCA-Northside Hospital, has a new job as president and CEO of a suburban Chicago hospital.

Nichols will start work at AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Medical Center Elk Grove Village on March 19, a news release said.
Northside is a 288-bed hospital at 6000 49th St. N. in St. Petersburg and part of the HCA West Florida system. A spokeswoman for HCA West Florida said the system is recruiting a new CEO for Northside.
Nichols, a veteran of the HCA system, joined Northside in June 2013. During his tenure, the hospital developed a comprehensive stroke center, posted significant growth in cardiac surgeries, overall surgeries and emergency department visits, and saw increases in employee and physician engagement, the news release said.
Nichols also has served on the board of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce as a non-voting member.
AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Medical Center Elk Grove Village is a 401-bed acute-care hospital with more than 900 doctors who treat 18,000 patients annually.
