Since 2002, Alexander Orthopaedic Associates has provided orthopaedic care in Tampa Bay.
With locations in Largo and St. Petersburg, Alexander Orthopaedics has a knowledgeable team of physicians and physician assistants specializing in sports medicine, orthopedic workers’ compensation and auto accident injury care, among other specialties. The Alexander Orthopaedics team’s expertise in knee, hip, spinal and other kinds of surgeries sometimes leads to the team performing outpatient surgery at one of its surgery centers. In those situations, Alexander Orthopaedics offers an outpatient total joint liaison to walk the patient through the process every step of the way. It also offers a mobile therapy team to ensure that the patient’s home is safe when he or she returns home from surgery after recovering in the surgery center.
The day after surgery, the mobile and medical therapy team will then check up on the patient at home. Finally, Alexander Orthopaedics’ Therapy Department offers physical rehabilitation for the patient, all part of its commitment to patient-focused care every step of the way.

Founded in 2002 by Vladimir Alexander, M.D., Alexander Orthopaedics is the premier subspecialty orthopedic practice in the region. Alexander Orthopaedics is comprised of five speciality physicians, four physician assistants and our physical therapy team. Our board-certified physicians are sub-specialty trained in multiple areas of orthopedics. Our team is recognized locally as a leading authority in orthopedic care and consistently strives to do more. We offer many outpatient procedures not available elsewhere in our area. We believe recovery happens best when you're in a comfortable setting.

Founding Partner
Dr. Vladimir Alexander has over two decades of orthopedic experience and is the founding partner of Alexander Orthopaedic Associates. He's also the founder of the AEC Learning Center, a training facility for the education of physicians on the latest surgical techniques. He is board-certified and recertified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Alexander specializes in disorders and treatments of the major, large joints: hip, knee and shoulder. He is one of the few surgeons to perform total joint replacement and Birmingham Hip Resurfacing surgeries on an outpatient basis.
