Pour and Decor opens in Grand Central District

A new coffee and shopping concept opened in St. Petersburg’s Grand Central District over the weekend.

Pour and Decor, a coffee and home decor shop at 2210 Central Avenue, held a grand opening celebration April 6. The 3,500-square-foot space is now home to a coffee shop and retail section in front and a small art and furniture gallery, Mastry’s Art Shop, in back.

“It definitely took a lot of blood, sweat and tears, as they say,” said Pour and Decor owner Gabrielle Cuccaro. “We signed our lease back in May, so it took about a year to open.

“I’ve always wanted to build kind of a dual concept, because I love coffee. I used to work at Mazzaro’s Italian Market at the coffee bar, and then I worked in multiple retail shops, so I just wanted to combine the two and make something really great that St. Pete’s never seen.”

In addition to lattes and other specialty coffee drinks, Pour and Decor serves pastries and small prepared food items, like hash browns and avocado toast. On the “decor” side, offerings include home decorations, gifts, candles, pet and baby items, drinkware and seasonal products. Mastry’s Art Shop is a small showroom with retail and custom artwork and home furnishings. Cuccaro said Michael Mastry, owner of Haven Design, is a family friend who previously designed the interior of her parents’ home in St. Pete.

“When The Cuccaros asked us to design the new Pour & Decor building, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them again,” Mastry said in a prepared statement. “Upon discussing concepts for how we wanted the space to feel, the idea was brought up to open a ‘shop within a shop’ to show locally inspired, globally discovered art.”

“Gabrielle and I are both St. Pete born and raised,” Mastry added. “We love this city and we wanted to create a welcoming destination that opened the doors to what we all love; coffee and specialty bites (from the iconic Mazzaro’s), home decor, art and a beautiful yet casual daytime gathering space in the heart of art-loving St Pete.”

Pour and Decor is now open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Cuccaro said the shop is currently closed on Sundays, but that may change in the future.
