The St. Pete/Clearwater Film Commission has extended the reservation deadline for its free production education program. Production 101, which begins Saturday, is the first in a series of classes designed to provide training for the practical skills that are needed in the film, TV, commercial and digital video industry.

The new deadline to register for Production 101 is April 5 (Friday) at 1 p.m.

Local production partner Bluewater Media has created the course curriculum for each class, and will provide the necessary materials. Classes will be held at the Bluewater studio14375 Meyerlake Circle, Clearwater.

“The production industry in St. Pete/Clearwater continues to thrive and generate millions of dollars in economic impact for Pinellas County,” noted St. Pete/Clearwater Film Commissioner Lisa Dozois in a prepared statement. ”The ability to offer a properly trained workforce is another of the many benefits we promote to bring even more business and opportunity to Pinellas County.”

Only Pinellas County residents are eligible to register for the program; the four-hour Production 101 is mandatory, and the next classes (dates to be announced) are Grip & Electric 201; Field Production Audio 201; Location Management 201 and Camera Assist 201.

Participation in the program is limited, and registration is required. Register at this link.
