BayCare Health System has named Jacquelyn B. Cawley, DO the new vice president and chief medical officer for Ambulatory Care and Clinical Integration. BayCare is a leading not-for-profit organization comprised of 15 hospitals and hundreds of other convenient locations throughout Tampa Bay and central Florida regions.
Dr. Cawley, who was the chief medical information officer and associate chief medical officer at MaineHealth, will lead strategies to ensure high-quality care delivery in the ambulatory and post-acute settings. She will also be responsible for clinically integrated services across the system with a focus on services outside the hospital setting.
“We’re thrilled to bring Dr. Cawley to the BayCare family,” said Nishant Anand, MD, FACEP, executive vice president and chief medical officer. “Her experience and leadership will help move forward our strategic priorities in the Ambulatory space.”
Dr. Cawley is an innovative executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience in a variety of academic and health care settings. During her various roles at MaineHealth, she has been responsible for leading strategic planning, development, budgeting, clinical compliance, population health initiatives, management and operations of many departments and programs.
Prior to joining MaineHealth, Dr. Cawley served as the interim dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine and vice president of the University Health Services and Clinical Affairs at University of New England. She has also been vice president of population health at Martin’s Point Health Care and assistant chief of Family Medicine at Maine Medical Center.
“I am very excited to join a leading health system like BayCare,” said Dr. Cawley. “Through this position, my hope is to strengthen the seamless integration of high quality, clinical services in the ambulatory setting through the advancement of population health initiatives for the patients and families we serve.”
Dr. Cawley completed her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree at University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and her residency training at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
