Social media lights up with messages of hope on Earth Day
Happy Earth Day to you! Today, more than a billion people in 192 countries are celebrating and honoring this humble planet we call home. Now in its 31st year, Earth Day’s mission of diversifying, educating and activating the environmental movement worldwide has never been more critical as we begin to emerge from the pandemic and resume some semblance of our pre-Covid lives. But it’s not just about what we do today that matters. Every action we take impacts what our world will look like in the future, a concept reflected in this year’s Earth Day theme, Restore Our Earth, which focuses on natural processes, emerging green technologies and innovative thinking that can restore the world’s ecosystems.
While it’s always important to think globally, it’s equally critical to act locally. So without further ado, here’s a roundup of what local residents, organizations – and one very famous dolphin – are saying about Earth Day.
Happy #EarthDay! Did you know? PCS currently has 33 active school garden sites, with 6 new sites cropping up this school year!
