Sprouts, more commercial coming to Skyway Marina District

More details and defined plans have been unveiled for the planned Skyway Village, a massive redevelopment of the Ceridian campus in St. Pete’s Skyway Marina District.
During a Monday community event, Frank Guerra, principal and founder of Altis Cardinal, informed the hundreds of attendees that he officially submitted plans for the transformation of the 34-acre park on the corner of 30th Avenue and U.S. Highway 19.
A new rendering showed that Sprouts Farmers Market will anchor Skyway Village.

Coral Gables-based Altis Cardinal purchased the Ceridian Office Park last year in a $40 million all-cash deal with the original intent to transform the site into a $500 million mixed-use destination with 1,500 housing units, which the developer later increased to 2,000.
Guerra previously announced he was planning to have a niche organic and fresh produce grocer occupy a 23,500-square-foot building, but he did not disclose the name of the potential grocer.
Sprouts has over 40 stores throughout the state. It is also planning to open a store in Kenneth City at 4571 66th St. N. in mid-August, according to the Sprouts’ website.
Guerra also shared Skyway Village will have 92,000 square feet of commercial space, which is nearly double the square footage Altis Cardinal initially proposed.
Altis expects to start construction start next year.
At the event, Guerra told the audience that he did multiple market analyses to determine the best uses for the site, according to multiple media outlets.
Regarding the residential component of the project, he said the apartments in the five-story buildings will be “focused on the middle market.”
Guerra was not immediately available to comment on the revised plans. Skyway Marina District Director Misty Bottorff said there will be a follow-up meeting.
Altis Cardinal is working with WDG Architecture and civil engineering firm Stantec on the project.
The original plans indicate the developer would keep the existing 125-foot Ceridian office tower, converting it into a nine-story amenity tower with wellness centers, a co-working space, a dog spa and more.
Altis Cardinal is the same group behind the redevelopment of the old Mosley Hotel property and Cornerstone Office Complex in Kenwood.
The team also developed the 431-unit Elements on Third apartment complex in St. Petersburg’s Union Central District.

As usual all these apartments the store is going in and it’s just going to get more expensive for the people. Who the hell cares about organic OK just put food that people can afford in stores that people can afford and living quarters and people kind of Ford but no course these investors they want to charge millions and thousands of dollars. Not a good move.
