State watercolor exhibition opens Thursday

Seven artists from Pinellas County are included among the 102 whose work makes up the Florida Watercolor Society’s 53rd annual statewide exhibition, opening Thursday at the Creative Pinellas Gallery on Walsingham Road in Largo.

The Florida Watercolor Society was founded in the Maitland area of Central Florida, with 26 members. Today, the organization has more than 1,000 members.

Pinellas artists participating in the juried 2024 show are Terri Ulrich, Linda Swindall, Kate Wendt, Jean Grastorf and Jannine LeMere from St. Petersburg, Kerry Stratton-Waltz from Clearwater and Marilynne Wasielewski from Seminole. The exhibition will remain through Oct. 13.

Judge and juror Stephen Quiller will conduct workshops, along with other watercolor artists, at the organization’s 2024 Convention and Trade Show, scheduled for Sept. 19-22 at the St. Petersburg Bayfront Hilton. All information on this event is available here.
