Steve Wozniak to headline Tampa tech event
Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak will come to Tampa to keynote the Civo Navigate tech event.
The Feb. 7-8 event will host workshops focused on tech leaders navigating and succeeding within the cloud native landscape.
Wozniak and legendary tech pioneer Steve Jobs founded Apple Computer Inc. in 1976. Wozniak invented the first personal computer, Apple I and Apple II, which revolutionized the computer industry into what it is today. After leaving Apple in 1985, he founded other businesses and is known for his philanthropic ventures.
The Civo Navigate tech event will be hosted in Armature Works, a mixed-use food hall and venue in Tampa.
Wozniak will discuss his time at Apple and share his thoughts on the future of technology.
“There will be an overriding theme of innovation, with a focus on helping companies better leverage cloud-native technologies. Education will be at the forefront of all talks and workshops, aimed at various skill levels,” the organization announced in a statement, adding that other cloud experts will be joining.
The sessions at the event will concentrate on a multitude of topics in the space, such as machine learning, security, software development, edge computing and more.
The lineup of featured speakers also includes executives from Slim.AI, which enables application developers to create more secure cloud-native apps; GitLab, which operates a DevOps software package; Buoyant, which gives developers, operators and enterprisers open-source tools for applications; and cybersecurity firm Denfense.com, among others.
Tampa Devs, a community-led nonprofit that helps link and create opportunities for Tampa’s tech entrepreneurs, is a community sponsor for the event. Its founder, Vincent Tang, will be one of the many speakers.
Tampa Bay Tech, a nonprofit technology council, is also listed as a community sponsor.
