Take TBARTA’s Envision 2030 Transit Survey
The Tampa Bay Regional Transit Authority (TBARTA) is seeking community input in Tampa Bay’s first Regional Transit Development Plan, Envision 2030.
Envision 2030 will be a 10-year regional vision and strategy for connecting Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco and Pinellas counties with regional transit service.
TBARTA is working to better connect people and places in Tampa Bay through both long-term and short-term projects, in ways that are financially and operationally feasible. TBARTA’s community feedback survey is open through Dec. 31, 2019, and results from the survey will inform the eventual Envision 2030 plan. Respondents to the survey will also be entered for a chance to win a pair of Tampa Bay Lightning tickets to a game in 2020.

As an older rider I depend on the bus for transportation within my community and region. I have lived in urban centers in other areas of the country with significant imaginative and innovative public transportation access. So I find the less available resources that Tampa Bay has not only a personal impediment but a confusing issue. I don’t really understand the limitation and consider it a real conflict for Tampa Bay going forward. I have family and friends of decades less age than me in less dense and smaller urban markets who use public transpo where they live heartily and effectively. I believe that if Tampa Bay is really going to realize its potential for future growth and robust participation as a major contender for business it is imperative that public transportation be realized fast. It goes well beyond my personal needs. At the rate Tampa Bay is dodging the elephant in the room as in a transportation needs platform I will long be gone before the region ever resolves the need.
