The west side gets a new co-working space

An underutilized two-story building in West St. Pete will now accommodate over a dozen companies and entrepreneurs. 

Orlando-based Hampton and Hampton, a property management and real estate investment firm, has opened the doors of the newest co-working space in St. Pete – The Florida Nest. 

The Florida Nest, located at 5922 9th Ave. N., is a brand under the Hampton and Hampton umbrella that manages Airbnb vacation homes and other boutique short-term rental properties in Orlando and St. Pete.

Hampton scooped up the 4,293-square-foot property nearly three months ago. It was the former office of the All County Property Management group.

The second level. 

The 1950s building has a modern-industrial design with private glass-enclosed office suites and conference rooms on the first and second floors. A spiral metal staircase leads to a second level that offers additional cubicles and a podcast recording studio.

“We were [initially] just looking for an office space for ourselves and other investors,” Kim Meredith Hampton of Hampton Real Estate Advisors said during a Wednesday ribbon-cutting celebration.

“I would see this site on my journey every day when I would go take the kids to school. I’ve always wondered about this property,” St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce President Chris Steinocher said, highlighting its hidden potential given the size of the building and adjacent parking lot. 

A conference room includes a  built-in fish tank. 

“You’ve taken something with a business in it and now you’re going to have multiple businesses,” Steinocher said.

Hampton also manages Satoshi Hideout, a crypto-themed hotel in St. Petersburg designed for digital nomads and business travelers. 

“I was born and raised here. I grew up seeing strong entrepreneurship. You don’t see a lot of big box companies,” Hampton said to the event attendees. “At this day and time, I think co-working is huge for this area.”
