Amerant Bank, the largest community bank headquartered in Florida, signed a 2,700-square-foot, five-year lease for its new banking center, marking the bank’s first branch in Tampa. The new banking center is slated for opening in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Situated in the Westshore Business District, the most central business area in the Tampa Bay area, the branch will be located on the first floor of the Urban Centre Building at 4830 W Kennedy Blvd. The Westshore Business District is home to more than 4,000 businesses, both small and large, and near some of the highest-valued residential neighborhoods.

“We are committed to continue growing our presence in Tampa Bay with the addition of a new banking center, which will provide new and existing clients a full suite of financial services,” said Jerry Plush, Chairman and CEO, Amerant Bank. “We entered the Tampa market just over a year ago and look forward to providing the same exceptional level of customer service we are known for in our other markets.”

In addition, the bank’s existing office in Tampa will relocate to the same building on the 5th floor. The opening of the branch transitions Amerant from a Loan Production Office to a full-service bank with full banking capabilities.

“By opening both the banking center and the new office space, Amerant’s commitment to expanding in the Greater Tampa Bay market is evident,” said Jason Russek, EVP, Tampa Market President at Amerant Bank. “We are thrilled to provide even more offerings for our clients and continue to grow our team here.”

Since expanding into the Tampa Bay market, the team has grown exponentially to bring in team members that provide commercial banking, commercial real estate, treasury management, residential mortgage lending, private client banking, and SBA lending services, as well as multiple support roles, including credit, portfolio management and client support.

“We intend to add even more resources to our team in the coming months to capitalize on the market opportunities available in Tampa,” added Plush.

JLL represented the landlord; and the owner is TUC Office Owner 1, LLP in the transaction. For more information about Amerant Bank, visit
