St. Petersburg, FL, February 19th, 2023 –
The Mace Anthony Williamson Foundation is a nonprofit organization in St. Petersburg, FL. One of the primary aims of the non-profit foundation is to help provide doula support for pregnant women who may not otherwise be able to afford that level of care. Doulas are trained non-medical professionals who provide support, resources, evidenced based information and emotional and physical care throughout the prenatal period, through childbirth and the postpartum period. They also provide emotional support in the event of infant loss or significant medical issues with a newborn, also known as a Bereavement Doula.
The Mace Anthony Williamson Foundation is organizing an event called The Doula Project Resource Community Baby Shower presenting their program The Doula Project Resource. It provides no-cost doula services to families in low-income households that may not otherwise have access to this care. The event is on February 19th, 2023 at 3pm. They are hosting it at Academy Prep Center of St. Petersburg.
The Doula Project Resource Community Baby Shower, sponsored by Molina Healthcare, Count the Kicks US, Flanagan Law, Gigi’s Playhouse Tampa and Firm Foundations Lingerie, will benefit a number of local families and give them access to other community organizations that

will help to support them. Some of these moms have experienced miscarriage, still birth or early infant death. The Doula Project Resource wants to make sure that they are supported fully during such a life altering journey. This event will bring together a community of people who have all been impacted by loss.
All participants will receive a diaper bag, plenty of diapers and wipes, and a free doula! The bags will also be filled by event sponsors and contributors, the bags will have other essential items for their new baby. The registration for the Community Baby Shower is now closed and over 20 moms signed up. Various vendor stations will be set up along the room for families to seek information and resources from.
“This is our very first time hosting this type of event and we’ve not only accomplished our sponsorship goals, but gained so much participation from the families in Pinellas and Hillsborough County,” said Maiye Waller, Founder and President. “With the help of these mission driven organizations we anticipate doubling event attendance in 2024.”
The event will be decorated by local event design company A & K Events. During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from speakers that are local in the community and are invited to a complimentary dinner, catered by Chef Terrell Manning Private Chef and Catering and entertainment provided by a surprise local saxophonist and singer!
