CareerSource Pinellas today announced PinellasWorks, a slate of training programs for Pinellas residents who lost their jobs due to Covid-19. Those who experienced employment interruptions after March 1 may be eligible for on-the-job training opportunities, direct job placement, short-term occupational skills training certifications, and supportive services.

The PinellasWorks programs will be supported by $2 million of CARES Act Funding, provided by Pinellas County, and will be administered and managed by CareerSource Pinellas.

Businesses that would like to participate in providing on-the-job training opportunities must have experienced economic impact due to the COVID-19 outbreak and have been in operation for at least one year. On-the-job training placement opportunities for businesses and residents will last a minimum of 30 days and must be completed by December 15, 2020. Jobs eligible for this program will meet Florida’s minimum wage requirements, and the employee worksite location must be within Pinellas County.

PinellasWorks is a great opportunity to connect employers and job seekers who have been impacted by COVID-19. PinellasWorks offers 100 percent reimbursement of costs associated with training new employees and an opportunity for job seekers to learn new skills and get back to work.
