Celebrate Earth Day with Several Local Businesses
LocalShops1 is proud to spotlight local celebrations of sustainability and showcase members and Shopapalooza vendors who think “green” first. These include local makers who create upcycled art, as well as local businesses who curate sustainable products for your home and body.
You won’t want to miss the Day at the Farm with Sans Market on Saturday, April 19 from noon to 4pm. LocalShops1 member and longtime Shopapalooza vendor Eniko Olah, owner of Sans Market in St. Pete, is partnering with the 15th St. Farm to honor Earth Day with a celebration of sustainability, local agriculture and environmental stewardship. The Day at the Farm will be held at 342 15th Street N in St. Petersburg. This event is filled with educational experiences, delicious food and community engagement.
Attendees will enjoy guided farm tasting tours at 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM, savor farm-fresh, wood-fired pizza and local kombucha, and explore eco-education booths hosted by local non-profits and sustainability advocates. The event will also feature sustainability giveaways and prizes to encourage environmentally friendly practices.

Sans Market is the city’s first zero-waste store, at 1037 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg.

The White Green Cloth
Noelle Stewart founded her company in 2012, while a single mom raising four children. The chemical-free ecofriendly cloth is reusable and machine-washable and works on all smooth surfaces. A Piece of Tropical Paradise
Lena Jonsson takes PVC pipes and upcycles them into unique and eclectic garden art, including colorful flamingos, pelicans, egrets and other yard birds, as well as geckos, eagles and even dachshunds. Mother Kombucha
Owners Stephanie Davenport and Kimberly Chaffin’s business is a certified B Corp, which requires upholding rigorous standards for social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Their efforts at their brewery include composting, recycling and solar-power. Founded by an avid traveler and beach lover Cat Lepetit, Sun Drunk is a brand inspired by perfect days spent by the sea. Earth Day is celebrated annually on April 22. “We wanted to bring awareness to these local businesses not only for what they do on Earth Day, but also year-round,” said Ester Venouziou, LocalShops1 founder.
